Absolutely naff all.

From checking the dates here it looks like its been what, 3 months since I last managed to make a post on here.
Not good really..

But then a lots happened in those 3 months.
There was a breif trip to Washington, for example, which was awesome sauce, where I got to visit the Smithsonian Nasa & Space Museum, eat breakkist next to the pile of treasure from Night at the Museum 2, and amuse myself with the lovely “ICBM” exhibit, where, incidentally, all the US missles were conveniently bigger than their Soviet cousins.
There was a trip to Oxford to enjoy the sights of the Pitt Rivers museum. Shrunken heads, ancient juju and some gorgeous ceremonial clothes which I was saddened to find i couldn’t bring home.
I’ve also been doing other stuff, which doesn’t involve travelling. The kittens are now gone for example. After surviving 3 weeks of the horror, I came home one night to find my partner mortified at the scene they’d walked into. Vaguely reminisicent of the Golgothan demon from Dogma, there was lots, it smelled and they had to go, and quickly.
They’re now the beloved property of my brother, and I hope he and his family enjoy them far more than we did.
To their credit however, they have left us a present we didnt notice for a good week or so after they had left. Like the sudden onset of the 10th biblical plague, I’ve been walking around feeling full of more holes than a tea bag, and have rediscovered my old hatred of all things flea..
Webby news also, and over the past week I’ve finally fixed the wiki on here. Accessible by heading over to http://wiki.lazyfcuk.com/index.php5 you’ll find some info about one of my most recent projects, the Mad Bad Dual Boxing Project of Awesome (MBDBPA) which has taken up whole minutes of my time.
I’ll probably even get round to bringing it all up to date at some point
And finally, some career oriented news which I wont be repeating or further publicising so either read it here or go without… After long careful consideration, I’ve finally settled on a direction to take my career. It may be unsuprising to some of the folks that know me, and is old new to the few I’ve spoken to, but I’m now looking at a nice 7-8 yr plan to head out of the IT Sector and into Psychiatry.
Naturally before I can start messing with peoples heads professionally, I need to get qualified and all that, so to ease me back in and allow me the ability to work and make a living in the mean time, I’ve applied to study an online Psychology degree with the University of Derby. The last of my application doc’s is due in on August 17th to commence study in Sept, but so far I think I’m being considered for a slot which is good.
If I manage to last the 3 years and pull in a reasonable degree (can’t see why not, and I’ll be aiming for a 1st) I’ll be able to register with the British Psychological Society and start practicing as a counsellor if I want. However at this point I’m probably going to look at taking another year somewhere and getting a masters with it.
From there I then hope to do an accelerated 4 yr Medicine degree with the University of Swansea and then specialising to become a fully qualified Psychiatrist.
Long term plan, I know, but lets be honest, it is about time I got one really, lol.
And finally….. As if all that weren’t enough, the emmigration thing has been taken back off the shelf, dusted down and polished and being looked at in that thoughtful way again. Probably won’t be doing anything with it immediately, especially with hopefully working on a Psychology degree in the near future, but we are looking at options again, and I’m giving serious consideration to ignoring Canada and heading in entirely the opposite direction and moving to New Zealand.
